Job Purpose:

Service Specialist is seeking an experienced Structural fitter to join its team. The ideal candidates for the position must have a minimum of 5 years of fitting experience. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to accurately perform layout, cutting with a torch, metric measuring (i.e. cm, mm, etc.) and structural fitting processes by successfully passing an interview and hands-on blue print and craft test.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

· Lays out fabricates metal structural parts, like plates, bulkheads, and frames, and braces them in position within hull of ship for riveting or welding.

· Lays out position of parts on metal, working from blueprints or templates and using scribe hand tools.

· Locates marks reference lines, like center, buttock and frame lines.

· Positions parts , assisted by Rigger.

· Aligns parts in relation to each other, using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and mauls.

· Marks location of holes to be drilled installs temporary fasteners to hold part in place for welding or riveting.

· Installs packing, gaskets, liners, and structural accessories members, like doors, hatches, brackets, and clips.

· May prepare molds templates for fabrication of nonstandard parts.

· May tack weld clips brackets in place prior to permanent welding.

· May roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape plates, beams, and other heavy metal parts, using shop machinery, like plate rolls, presses, bending brakes, and joggle machines..

· Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand

· Measure and mark reference points or cutting lines on workpieces

· Assemble and install pipe sections, fittings, or plumbing fixtures

· Cut, bend, or thread pipe for gas, air, hydraulic, or water lines

· Build or repair structures in construction, repair, or manufacturing setting

· Cut, shape, fit, or join wood or other construction materials

· Determine material or tool requirements

· Perform safety inspections in construction or resource extraction setting

· Understand construction specifications

· Move or lift heavy objects

· Plan or organize work

· Read technical drawings

· Determine project methods and procedures

· Use building or land use regulations

· Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications

Skills / Qualifications:

· 3 yr. of fitting experience.

· Read Blue Print
